What Do You See?

If you put down your shield
To look around
You might see what others
In you have found
The shield that you have
Been using as a mask
Have you ever taken
It off to ask
Others who are
Like me
What it is that
We see?
I see not just a girl
But a young woman
Someone who has a lot of people
As her biggest fan.
You see the world
Through a little eye hole
Instead of taking off your mask and
Viewing the world as a whole
You look ahead
And think it’s an army you lack
You think you’ll be swept away
If they attack
But if you look behind
You will see
More people then you have ever
Thought there would be
We will support you
Through thick and thin
Through all your good and
All your sin

So this is the poem Nadine has been freaking out about. I think it's pretty good, Alex, one of your best, better than the one of "from this young guy who once was broken" which you wrote at the Credo Christmas program instead of listening to the beautiful voiices of the children in the chior.

Nadine: We'll love you no matter who you are. And now you don't have to bring a copy of the poem to Kathryn's on Wednesday next week.
